Pastel Zoo (2018)
Pastel Zoo was my year long thesis project for my Bachelor of Fine Arts at Maine College of Art. It combined my knowledge of color, form, animation, special effects, and interactivity. I created an explorable experience catered to all audiences with the chance to learn. The animals were digitally painted in Photoshop, rigged and animated in After Effects, Stop motion done in Dragon frame, finally it all came together with sound in Premiere. I got great reactions to this piece and it really represents my four years at MECA. |
Sugar Pine 7: On the Spot (2018)
Sugar Pine 7: On the Spot is a frame by frame animation I did in adobe animate. I challenged myself to use the limited colors available to me within animate and create something still visually beautiful. This project reflects a great preproduction which included, storyboards, line art, an animatic and final artwork. The blend of a colorful style and the humor of the audio creates a really fun experience. |
A Well Balanced Breakfast (2017)
A Well Balanced Breakfast is a 2D animation created using Adobe Illustrator and Adobe After Effects. The assets for the animation were created in Illustrator to give them a clean precise style. The entirety of the animation was done in After Effects. The objective of this project was to create a commercial that replicated the psas of my youth that always reminded children to eat breakfast in the morning. I took that concept and chose a style that would read well to everyone and not just children. |
Buzzworthy News (2017)
Buzzworthy news was a collaborative project in which I was in charge of animation and video editing. Our teams goal was to educate people about the current crisis in the bee community using a storybook aesthetic. We wanted to keep the video relatively light with a touch of political humor. Simple animations along with the animated graphics and type allowed the message and illustrations to shine through. Monsters at Market (2017)
This project combined two techniques to create a vibrant and whimsical world. I was interested in exploring where 2D and Live Action could meet. How can animated characters blend into our world and bring imagination alive. To start this project I designed four "monster" characters and animated them separately into four saturated gifs. This allowed me to explore the characters and the technique I'd need to use before moving forward to the final video, Monsters at Market. |
Leopold & Stitch (2016)
Leopold & Stitch is my first full length 2D animation created entirely in Adobe Animate. This project started with designing a simple character (Leopold) that could be animated with a walk cycle and emotions. This character was successful and developed into this larger project. Each frame was drawn on my tablet first just with line art. After completing the line art animation I went back and colored in each frame using Animate's paint brush tool. The story explores Leopold's journey to discovering his new best friend. |
